The Cusco to Rainbow Mountain Tour is one of the most popular tours in Cusco, Peru. In fact, the tours to Vinicunca Peru are the second most sold tours in Cusco, after the Machu Picchu Tour from Cusco.
Discovered in 2016, Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain was covered under dense snow. When the snow started to melt, the colors started to appear. It soon got all the deserving attention. Vinicunca Peru now receives thousands of visitors each day during the high season, so it’s one of the most famous attractions in Cusco region.
With an elevation of 5040 meters above sea level (16535 ft.), the Cusco to Rainbow Mountain Tour demands good physical condition. It is highly recommended that you spend a few days in Cusco before your full-day tour to avoid altitude sickness.
The trek compliments amazing views of the beautiful landscapes of the Peruvian Andes. The Cusco to Rainbow Mountain Tour takes between 1.5 and 2.5 hours, and it takes you through the highland farms with a sight of the snow-capped peak of the mighty Ausangate Moutain. It is the highest mountain in the region. To locals, it is a sacred Apus (peak).
Our Cusco to Rainbow Mountain Tour takes you through a slightly different path than most others. This will allow you to enjoy the breathtaking views with fewer trekkers alongside.
We have dedicated local tour guides for the trek. As locals, they have in-depth knowledge about the Andean traditions and customs. Our tour guides are also trained in first aid which allows them to give our trekkers immediate attention if they feel altitude sickness.
We operate the Cusco to Rainbow Mountain Tour in Group Services. Do take a moment to check out the reviews of those who visite the Mountain of Seven Colors with us.
